1. General Conditions

1.1 The WPG Fellowship Tour 2027 will take place from Tuesday 11 May to Sunday 6 June 2027. Successful applicants must be available for the full duration of the tour. Partial attendance is not permitted.

1.2 The Fellowship programme begins in September 2026 through online mentorship, professional development and preparation sessions. Fellows are expected to engage fully with these sessions in advance of the tour.

1.3 The official language of WPG is English. Participants must be able to communicate effectively in English for rehearsals, workshops, clinics and professional activities.

1.4 Applications are open to percussionists of all nationalities aged 18–35 at the time of the tour. Applicants are responsible for checking their eligibility to travel within the United Kingdom, European Union and all relevant destinations.

1.5 WPG members participate as independent artists. Participation does not create an employment, contractor, agency or representative relationship with WPG.

2. Applications & Selection

2.1 Applicants must submit all required application materials through the official WPG application process.

2.2 Required materials include a CV or résumé, high-resolution promotional photograph and audition video or media submission as requested in the application guidelines.

2.3 WPG may extend early conditional offers to outstanding applicants, early submissions or former WPG alumni. Applicants are encouraged to submit materials as early as possible.

2.4 Final selection is made by WPG Artistic Director Tim Palmer and invited faculty where appropriate. Selection decisions are final.

2.5 WPG reserves the right to withdraw an invitation, replace an artist or alter any element of the programme where necessary, including in cases of illness, non-payment, visa/travel issues or unprofessional conduct.

2.6 All applicants must agree to the WPG Code of Conduct and the final terms and conditions declaration before participation is confirmed.

3. Fees, Payments & Scholarships

3.1 Successful applicants will be required to pay the full Fellowship fee according to the published payment schedule.

3.2 Payments secure the artist’s place within the Fellowship programme and contribute towards the tour, accommodation, transport, mentorship, educational activity, administrative costs and project delivery.

3.3 Artists are responsible for any bank charges, transfer fees, currency conversion costs or failed payment charges.

3.4 Failure to meet payment deadlines may result in the withdrawal of a place. Fees already paid may be non-refundable where costs have already been committed by WPG.

3.5 Scholarships or financial assistance, where available, are awarded at WPG’s discretion. The Committee reserves the right to change scholarship distribution at any time.

3.6 Applicants should not assume scholarship support unless confirmed in writing by WPG.

4. Travel, Accommodation & Insurance

4.1 WPG will arrange core accommodation and internal group transport during the Fellowship Tour. These arrangements are non-negotiable and are made at the discretion of WPG.

4.2 Participants are responsible for their own travel to and from the starting and ending points of the programme, including flights, trains, local transfers and any additional personal travel costs.

4.3 Participants must arrange comprehensive travel insurance, including cruise cover where relevant, medical cover, cancellation cover, baggage cover and cover for missed transport.

4.4 Participants are responsible for ensuring they hold a valid passport, visas, travel authorisations and any required entry documentation for all destinations. WPG cannot issue refunds where travel is refused due to documentation or eligibility issues.

4.5 We strongly advise that passports have at least six months’ validity remaining beyond the end of the tour.

4.6 Artists are financially responsible for any additional costs incurred if they miss provided transport, including but not limited to coaches, trains, flights or cruise embarkation.

5. Health, Safety & Personal Responsibility

5.1 Participants are responsible for their own health, safety, personal belongings and day-to-day wellbeing throughout the Fellowship programme and tour.

5.2 WPG does not provide medical supervision, personal care or one-to-one safeguarding supervision for adult participants.

5.3 Participants confirm that they are medically fit to participate and are responsible for managing any medical conditions, medications, allergies, dietary needs or access requirements.

5.4 Touring, travel and performance activities involve inherent risks, including travel disruption, illness, injury, fatigue and schedule changes. By participating, members voluntarily accept these risks.

5.5 Participants must comply with instructions given by WPG staff, venues, host institutions, transport providers and accommodation providers at all times.

6. Professional Conduct

6.1 Selected artists are expected to demonstrate a high level of professionalism throughout online sessions, rehearsals, travel, performances, workshops and public activity.

6.2 Non-adherence to the WPG Code of Conduct may result in removal from the programme. Any fees paid by the participant may not be refunded.

6.3 WPG does not provide supervision outside scheduled activities. Participants are responsible for their own conduct, decisions and arrangements during free time.

6.4 Participants must behave respectfully towards fellow artists, staff, host institutions, audiences, transport providers, accommodation providers and members of the public.

7. Media, Materials & Equipment

7.1 Selected artists give permission for WPG to use promotional photographs, biographies, recorded footage, concert recordings, clinic footage and tour media for WPG promotion, education, sponsors, partners and future applicant materials.

7.2 Fellowship materials, repertoire, schedules and resources will be made available to selected artists as required. These materials remain subject to copyright and may not be shared publicly without permission.

7.3 Instrumentation is dependent on host institutions, venues and logistical arrangements. Endorsed artists are not guaranteed access to specific brands or models of instruments.

7.4 Participants must treat all instruments, equipment, facilities and venues with respect. Any damage caused by participants may result in repair or replacement charges.

7.5 WPG is not responsible for lost, damaged or stolen personal items.

8. Liability & Programme Changes

8.1 To the fullest extent permitted by law, WPG shall not be held liable for claims arising from personal injury, property damage, emotional distress, travel disruption or other loss incurred during participation.

8.2 To the fullest extent permitted by law, WPG’s total liability shall be limited to the total fees paid by the participant.

8.3 WPG shall not be liable for losses arising from events beyond its control, including force majeure, cancellations or disruption caused by third-party providers including hotels, transport providers, cruise operators, venues and host institutions.

8.4 WPG reserves the right to change dates, venues, institutions, repertoire, faculty, activities, transport, accommodation or programme structure where necessary.

8.5 Final terms and conditions will be issued to selected artists before participation is confirmed. WPG reserves the right to update these terms before that point.
