Ye Bu is a dynamic and versatile Chinese percussionist whose artistry bridges contemporary Western repertoire and traditional Chinese percussion. A graduate of the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, she is currently pursuing advanced studies at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen, where she continues to refine her craft under the guidance of leading European percussionists.
Ye has distinguished herself as a compelling soloist, chamber musician, and cultural ambassador. Her performances are marked by technical brilliance, refined musical sensitivity, and a deep understanding of diverse rhythmic traditions. She has earned top prizes at competitions such as the China Youth Percussion Competition and the Asia Pacific Percussion Festival Solo Competition, and her work has been featured in international festivals across Asia and Europe.
In addition to her performance career, Ye is an active educator and advocate for percussion music. She regularly leads workshops and outreach initiatives to support young musicians and promote cross-cultural engagement through percussion. As a selected artist of the World Percussion Group, Ye represents a new generation of performers shaping the global future of percussion through creativity, collaboration, and artistic excellence.
