Hsin-Hsuan Wu

Taiwan (WPG 2017 Soloist)

A prizewinner in numerous competitions and events, Hsin-Hsuan began her promising career at an early age. At 19, she was already invited as a soloist for various performances in recitals, concertos, chamber music, and masterclasses, exploring a broad repertoire both in Taiwan and internationally (including Germany, England, Austria, China, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Israel, Japan, Thailand, and others). From 2005 to 2016, she was a member of the Ju Percussion Group in Taiwan, performing in over 200 concerts and touring in multiple countries across Asia and the Americas (the United States, China, Malaysia, the Dominican Republic, Korea, etc.).

Since 2018, Hsin-Hsuan has been a soloist with Percussions de Strasbourg, where she has developed numerous projects and performed works focused on contemporary music, including compositions by Iannis Xenakis, Hugues Dufourt, Ryoji Ikeda, Thierry de Mey, Alexander Schubert, and Simon Steen-Anderson. She has appeared at various festivals and prestigious venues, such as the IRCAM ManiFeste Festival in Paris, the MUSICA Festival in Strasbourg, the Milano MUSICA Festival, the Messiaen Festival, the Philharmonie de Paris, the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Megaron Concert Hall in Athens, the Thessaloniki Concert Hall, and others. Passionate about teaching, Hsin-Hsuan views the artistic and scenic transmission of music as central to her creative commitment.

Teaching is an essential part of her musical and artistic journey, as she seeks to build bridges between her artistic and educational pursuits. After a decade of teaching experience in Taiwan, she was an assistant teacher at the Conservatoire National Supérieur Musique et Danse de Lyon from 2018 to 2021, and then a professor at the Conservatoire de Caen until 2024.
