Filip Korošec is a multifaceted percussionist, recognized for his exceptional musicality, encompassing an elegant touch, fluidity, explosiveness, and profound communicative abilities through music. Korošec has graced stages across Europe, both as a soloist and a member of chamber ensembles. His remarkable achievements include being the inaugural recipient of the esteemed "Marimba One Excellency Award," conferred in recognition of his outstanding performances at the IPCL competition in Luxembourg. He is also the recipient of the coveted Blåsmusikpriset.
With degrees from Ljubljana's Academy of Music and the Royal College of Music Stockholm, Filip continues to evolve his artistry. He nurtures his craft through collaborations with renowned percussionists such as Simone Rubino, Anders Åstrand, Collin Currie, Svet Stoyanov, Steven Schick, Katarzyna Mycka, Leif Karlsson, Simon Klavžar, and others. Korošec's primary focus lies in the realm of contemporary percussion repertoire, where he frequently interprets new works for percussion and electronics. However, his versatility extends across genres, encompassing Jazz to Baroque and everything in between. He brings a fresh and innovative perspective to the classical percussion repertoire, redefining its boundaries and possibilities.
In the season 2023/2024 he is debuting with The Swedish Army Band and Gothenburg Wind Band. He is beginning his position as a Co-Principal of World Percussion Group on tours in Spain, Portugal and the United Kingdom as well as touring the Nordic countries and Slovenia with his percussion ensemble Peaux Duo.
