Elliott Gaston-Ross is a British/Irish percussionist. He studied at the Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität, Linz, where he received a first in Bachelor’s degree in Percussion, Master’s degree in Percussion and Master’s degree in Orchestral Studies. He also holds an Advanced Diploma from the Royal Academy of Music in London and an Advanced Professional Diploma from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Elliott has won prizes in prestigious solo competitions including the TROMP International Percussion Competition Eindhoven 2018 (3rd Prize and Jan Pustjens Press Prize), the Percussive Linz International Marimba Competition 2015 (Semifinalist and Special Prize) and the BBC Young Musician 2014 Competition (Percussion Winner and Concerto Finalist).


He also appeared as a Solo Artist with the World Percussion Group 2021 and won a scholarship at the Yamaha Music Europe Foundation competition in February 2023. As an orchestral percussionist and timpanist, Elliott currently hold the position of Principal Percussion with the Göttinger Symphonieorchester in Germany for the 2024/5 and 2025/6 seasons. Elliott has regularly appeared with orchestras including the Philharmonia Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Aurora Orchestra, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO) and Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, as well as Guest Principal Percussion appearances with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and the BBC National Orchestra of Wales.


He previously held two contracts over three years with the Bruckner Orchestra Linz as the Percussion Academist and a timed contract for timpani and percussion for the 2021/2 season. Elliott was also a member of youth orchestras including the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO) and the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain. Since 2023, Elliott has been an Infinity Percussion artist.
