WORLD PERCUSSION GROUP 2021 - TOUR INTRODUCTION

Due to recent global events surrounding COVID-19, WPG has taken the decision to postpone the 2020 Tour and defer to September 2021. The 2021 tour includes the same institutions and we look forward to visiting these European Conservatoires.

Are you a Percussionist, Drummer or a Composer of Percussion Music? The 'World Percussion Group' is recruiting Soloists, Ensemble Players and a Composer-in-Residence for their next 2021 European touring group.

Whether you have a drum corps background or your strengths are in marimba playing, we want to hear from you. Our search for the world's elite musicians continues....

Next year we return to the Baltics and tour Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Finland, Russia, Estonia and the UK. Here we will feature the World Premiere from our selected 2021 Composer-in-Residence, showcase our Soloist and the rest of the WPG!

As a WPG 2021 member, you will have the opportunity to perform and deliver clinics at the Royal College of Music, London, Royal Danish Academy of Music, Copenhagen, Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, Birmingham, Royal College of Music, Stockholm, Sibelius Academy, Helsinki, Leeds College of Music, Leeds and the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, Tallinn.

See what our 2019 artists had to say about their experience!

WORLD PERCUSSION GROUP 2019 REVIEW

Interested to find out about life behind the scenes at WPG? Our artists reflect on the WPG 2019 Spain and Portugal Tour.

"Using a cruise ship as a method of transport worked out extremely smoothly. The biggest takeaway from WPG was being able to meet percussionists, build connections and create ideas for future projects."
Cameron Leach - WPG 2017 Co-Principal

"It was a wonderful experience, after each performance, we just went back to the ship to relax!."
Samuel Chan - WPG 2017 Co-Principal

Testimonials: See just how valuable WPG can be to the next generation of upcoming Percussion Artists.

"An amazing opportunity to spend so much time with like-minded artists, work with them, create new projects going forward and learn from everybody's unique backgrounds."
Alexander Smith (USA) - WPG 2019 Soloist
